Half-y New Year!

Happy New Year’s! This is only about 3 weeks late, but better late than never, right? Even though I haven’t posted at all since 2014 began, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been at work on these goals! In fact, today I’m ready to reveal a new goal! But you’ll have to wait just a little bit to find out what that is.

First, a quick update on everything that’s gone on: I’ve started classes (I love them!), I’ve joined and have attended 3 weeks’ worth of RoyalFit classes, I’ve been working out on off days, and 4 out of 50 books have been read so far this year! On the nutrition side of things, I’ve still got some work to do, but I plan on joining a friend on a modified version of the ever-popular “paleo diet” next week, just to see what it’s like! In my opinion, things are going well!

Okay, now it’s time to reveal my new goal. I was planning on revealing this one several months from now, but I chatted with a friend last night who convinced me to get plans for this one NOW. So without further ado, here it is:

A half marathon?! That’s over 13 miles! What are you thinking, Joel?! Well, I don’t know what exactly I’m thinking, or even if I AM thinking, but I want to be able to say that I have finished a half marathon! I planned on running one in October, because I thought it would take that long to prepare for it, but the friend I talked to last night gave me a 12-week plan for it that I know I can do! In fact, I start the first run on it TOMORROW! That will put me at running a half-marathon before April is over! That’s only 3 months from now! Can I do this??? I sure hope so!

So now I have 3 of 7 goals uncovered, and I’m excited but nervous at the same time. It’s time to be serious about my goals, but have fun along the way! Thanks for choosing to join me on this journey that seems unplanned an chaotic at times, but is still memorable and (hopefully) worthwhile!

I know I haven’t covered all that I intended to cover in writing this post tonight, but that’s what the next post is for right? (And the one after that, and the one after that, and the one…) So now I have a plan of action for the present, and it’s time to get to work! Catch you later!
